The first private sale of electric vehicles from the Paris car-sharing service was successfully held on Saturday 10 November in Romorantin.
In Romorantin, the old Autolib 'are selling like hotcakes. Despite the rain and the wind, hundreds of buyers crowded Saturday morning on a supermarket car park in Romorantin, in the heart of the Sologne, to try to acquire an electric car from the car-sharing service in Paris Autolib ', closed in August 2018.
Organized by a local garage, the sale began at 10 o'clock. In the late morning, the 50 cars presented were sold at a unit price of 3700 euros. The organizers then proposed fifty more, but this time without presenting them to their buyers who will pay the advertised price, without seeing them.
Their low cost of use
All are interested in the low cost of use of this small car: no gas, connection to a power supply accessible to all, a free registration and a reduced insurance for 1 tax cv. Another factor of attraction: the state bonus of 2,000 euros, conditionally accessible for the purchase of an electric vehicle, even used.
Only unknown, the after sales service. It should be provided by the Blue network, set up by the Bolloré group, creator of the Autolib 'system.
End of Autolib ', what will become of the employees?
Many questions also concern the state of the car whose aluminum prototype had been designed by the Italian designer Pininfarina. After 2011, the launch year of Autolib, these vehicles drove an average of 100,000 kilometers.
The condition of the bodywork is variable. Bosses, scratches, scratches testify to Parisian driving. Interiors where subscribers sometimes found leftover sandwiches or even syringes, were cleaned. The seats in gray faux leather are clean.
Other Bluecars soon on sale
Since the summer, about 3,500 Bluecar out of the 4000 that counted the network Autolib 'had been stored in the premises of the former factory Matra, after the dismantling of the service in the Paris region. After this flash sale, other similar cars will be sold, but their price will be higher, between 4500 and 4700 euros.
At its highest level, Autolib had 150,000 subscribers. But the car-sharing service had to face competition from other means to move in the capital and suffered from a degraded image.
