Les Ateliers d’Aboville, which offers drawing and painting lessons to children and adults, led by the artist-painter Dominique Verderi-Doury, opened their doors on Sunday for an exhibition of the students’ achievements during the year. .
The twenty or so students had worked on different subjects around the same theme, the imagination. They thus sought to divert objects from reality in order to modify the context.
“The interest of such an objective is, in my opinion, to help the child to let go and to allow himself to go beyond a pre-established reality”, explains the artist Dominique Verderi-Doury. “He is sometimes confused and thinks he has nothing to say. Then, little by little, the idea arises, walks and his imagination abounds. He is free in his composition while remaining consistent with the precepts of drawing and painting that I teach him. »
As for teenagers and adults, they worked on the subjects of their choice, such as manga, birds, animals, cartoon characters, landscapes, fruits, view of Chartres, or the Wave of Hokusai.
