The Wire actor Al Brown has died

Actor Al Brown passed away at the age of 83, losing his battle with Alzheimer’s. The news was confirmed by his daughter to the TMZ site.

Al is best known for his role as Commissioner Stanislaus “Stan” Valchek, a recurring role on all five seasons of the drama “The Wire.” A series that explored the relationship between the police and the dealers in the city of Baltimore.

He spent most of his life in the Air Force (29 years old), which led him on two tours of Vietnam. He began his acting career in 1995 and appeared as a supporting actor in series such as “Rescue Me”, “Law & Order: SVU”, “Commander in Chief”, “Maro”, “The Hustler” and in the television movie “Something the Lord Made».

He also participated in films such as “The Replacements” (2000), “Red Dragon” (2002), “Liberty Heights” (1999), “12 Monkeys” (1995), “Lay the Favorite” (2012), among others.
