Warren Buffett Enters Digital Bank, Invests IDR 7 T

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – A seasoned investor who is also one of the richest people in the world, namely Warren Buffett, has also invested in digital banks. Unmitigated, Buffett invested US$ 500 million or more than Rp 7 trillion into a digital bank in Brazil.

Reporting from CNBC International, Wednesday (9/6/2021), the bank in Brazil is Nubank, which was founded in 2013. Buffett entered Nubank through his investment company, Berkshire Hathaway.

According to CNBC data, the bank already has 40 million customers. Buffett has indeed made a lot of investments in companies in the financial sector. The financial companies that Buffett is targeting are usually traditional ones.

But lately, Buffett is said to have sold almost all of his shares in Wells Fargo, a bank from the United States (US).

Previously reported by Forbes, Buffett through Bershire has also invested US$ 400 million or more than Rp 5.6 trillion into a Brazilian fintech company called StoneCo.
